Updated January, 2025
Guidelines for Practicing Online or in person with myself, including retreats:
Do not eat or drink at least two hours before you practice.
Shower or bathe before you practice - maintain the niyama of śauca: cleanliness. Highly recommend showering with cold water before you begin your yoga practice. Please clean your mat and wear clean practice clothes. Wash your practice rug after using it.
Women, please do not come on the first four days of your period - this is also called ‘Ladies Holiday’. It is not recommended to invert the body while the natural monthly rhythm is in a downward flow. To modify your practice during the holiday, contact me and I’ll offer you an alternative hatha yoga practice.
Please use soft voices when entering the studio.
Be punctual, come prepared. Bring your own small towel and mat to class.
The first time you practice with me - especially if you already have an established practice - please practice the primary series of ashtanga yoga so that I can help you with your foundations.
If you do not want to be adjusted, please let me know.
Alcohol and drugs are not permitted at any of my retreats - this includes rest days: I forbid you during the retreat to indulge in anything other than yoga!
There are no ashtanga yoga classes on New and Full Moons. For a list of moon days in in 2025 they are listed HERE.
